Custom Fixtures & Signage
To round out the renovation of the Storyline Church building, we were tasked to create two gathering spaces. The first is a lounge for the Storyline staff. The client wanted this room to have a cozy atmosphere that allowed their team to rest and relax. We chose furniture and fixtures that paired well with the existing brick walls and storefront glass.
The second space, called the Discipleship Room, plays host to a number of groups throughout the week. Our goal was to make this large room feel warm and inviting, while still connecting its purpose to the greater Storyline Church mission.
The client asked if there was a way to incorporate a fireplace into this room. In order to make use of the narrow footprint, we had this custom fireplace surround and mantle built to fit perfectly between the storefront glass and garage door.
This seating area allows you to cozy up by the fireplace in the winter, or open the garage door and enjoy the fresh air on a warm summer day.
This stage area is the first wall you see as you enter the Discipleship Room. We needed to create impact, but keep the overall atmosphere approachable and calm.
We designed the custom slat wood pillars in order to play up the height of the room and frame the stage, while the chair rail adds depth and dimension to the remaining wall space.
At the back of the room, we created a focal wall and seating area to accommodate smaller meetings, or people needing a comfortable place to sit during large gatherings.
We tied the slat wood treatment into this area, but chose a walnut stain to create warmth and contrast against the dimensional logo icon.
In order to create functional storage, we designed custom cabinetry to house AV equipment, books and other quick-access items for the use of this room.
In order to keep the remaining walls from feeling empty, we added sconces to disperse warm light throughout the room. The addition of mission-focused verbiage connects this room to its purpose of meeting to learn and grow as a congregation.
